Tarkarli BeachTarkarli is a narrow stretch of beach with pristine waters, located at the convergence of the Karli River and the Arabian Sea. It is 546 k.m. away from Mumbai, 6 kms. south of Malvan, on the west coast of India. This place has gained prominence because of its transparently clear seas, where on a fairly sunny day, one can see the sea- bed up to a depth of 20 feet. This beach can be rightly called as ‘Queen Beach’ of Sindhudurg.

Sea and sand blending in enchanting natural harmony, gracefully cruising boats in calm and cool river waters add to the beauty of this beach. Here newly built M .T. D.C. Cottages are ready to provide you comfortable accommodation and recreation facilities. Now MTDC has made houseboat facility available at Tarkarli. 2 houseboats, namely, Hiranyakeshi (a deluxe houseboat) and Karli (a standard houseboat) are at the service of discerning traveler. By air: Nearest is Mumbai.
By rail: Nearest railhead is Kudal, 45 k.m. on Konkan Railway.
By road:
Mumbai–Tarkarli, 546 k.m.,Kolhapur–Tarkarli , 160 k.m.,Malvan –Tarkarli , 8 k.m.
State transport buses ply From Mumbai, Kolhapur or Pune to Malvan and from Malvan to Tarkarli . Rickshaws are also available from Malvan.

Amboli Hill StationIf you are in pursuit of peace and solitude, visit Amboli, a tranquil hill station on the Western Ghats, surrounded by thick forests and tree canopied hills. On the coastal side, Amboli peers over the tree lined sandy ribbon of the Konkan coast on the other three sides, you are rewarded by a magnificent panorama of the sweeping valley.

 Snuggling coyly, in the southern ranges of the Sahyadri hills, Amboli at an altitude of 690 m. is the last mountain resort before the coastal highlands settle, with a sigh, to form flat beaches.  Visit the numerous viewpoints for a pleasant view of the lush hills and fertile plains.  The Bauxite Mines, 10 kms. away, is a pleasant and very different excursion.  If you're looking to spend a few days in splendid isolation with your family, Amboli is an ideal resort. Amboli has a cool and invigorating climate, a welcome respite in summer.                      

Every year more than 50,000 tourists visit this place. In rainy season you will see beautiful waterfalls here.  The sunset point, Amboli Waterfallthe origin of Hiranyakeshi river Nagartas fall, Narayangad, Mahadergad, Kawalesad are some major points worth visiting.  You can enjoy a restful holidays away from the crowds that you find at other resorts.

By Air: Nearest airport is Belgaum, 64 kms. Dabolim(Goa) airport is 120 kms.

By Rail: The nearest railhead is Sawantwadi Road on Konkan Railway, 30 kms.

By Road: Mumbai is 549 kms by road, Pune 390 kms. State Transport and private vechiles ply from Sawntwadi, Malvan, Vengurla, Kankavli.
